Carol D’Silva was introduced to the fashion world at a very young age by her mother, Nelinda Da Silva. Carol learnt the art of hand and machine embroidery, crochet, handmade bobbin lace and more when she was barely 6 years of age.
Carol and Nelinda have been invited to countries in Europe to showcase their art of Bobbin Lace on an international forum since 2004 alongside participants from other countries around the world.
“The experience in Europe was simply amazing, the people you meet, the intricate lace and fashion, the history of every town. I fell in love and knew I wanted to pursue a life in fashion. Being a part of fashion shows from a young age, witnessing creations on display was special.” says Carol.
In 2010, Carol changed trajectory a bit by enrolling in a Bachelor of Engineering (majoring in Mechatronics). Fashion was and always be her passion, so after she completed the bachelors, she pursued a Diploma in Fashion Design in Queensland, Australia in 2017.
Carol has been designing since a young age, where it started with stick figures and quickly moved to intricate designs. She released her own creations in 2016 at a Fashion Show in Peniche, Portugal. Followed by a fashion show in Camarinas, Spain and Bobowa, Poland subsequently. She has released a few capsule collections that are available to view in the look book. Her biggest accomplishment till date was her handmade bobbin lace wedding dress that took her and 15 countries about a year and a half to complete.
“I craft bespoke, sustainable garments that celebrate individuality and elegance. Each piece is a unique work of art, meticulously designed to enhance your natural beauty. I collaborate closely with you to bring these exquisite creations to life, ensuring that every detail reflects your personal style.” ~ Carol
“You’ve got to know the rules to break them. That’s what I’m here for, to demolish the rules but to keep the tradition.” ~ Alexander McQueen
